The four letter word was written in cursive and reminded her of everything she had lost but hoped to find again. She closed her eyes and looked down so that the tears would not streak her face as they sometimes did. This ring had no intention of bringing her down but only to remind her of how worthy she truly was.
Sometimes she opened herself up to lies, a whispering voice would tell her she didn't deserve the word on her hand to become an active part in her life. After everything, she didn't even deserve the word to be put near her at all. And sometimes she believed it.
The word carried so much power in her life. Through different experiences she found a deeper definition of what those four letters could mean in her life. Love is what saved her when she was lost. Love is what lifted up her prayers of pleading statements. Love is found in so many of her relationships. And when she looked back at the string of struggles in each day, she found love was always her safe place.
So she slips "love" onto her right hand to begin the day for a reminder of hope.
