HOUNDSTOOTH AND RED GO HAND IN HAND

Pulling out the red heels that were used to celebrate the fourth of July for a completely different occasion! TODAY I have just finished my Design site that has all of my photography, portfolio work with web design, and blog experience in one place. LET'S CELEBRATE AMERICA

Happy birthday, America. I'm bringing three different looks to this blog to celebrate the occasion. My fashion posts have been put on the back burner because Belle Vie has been wedding central lately, but I couldn't miss out on showing off this new patriotic tank I found a few days ago. I adored this festive top that can also be used for every day wear!



I used three different pairs of shoes to change up the look of this outfit! Heels are my go-to. I tend to become a normal height once they are slipped onto my feet as well as obtaining a boost in self-confidence. Luckily I have been able to find all of my new additions to my shoe collection at Goodwill for a few bucks each. At least every time I enter that store or every other time, I come out with a new pair of heels. It's a bad obsession, but at least it's cheap!



I know that many of you have asked for links to each clothing item and I am so sorry I am not better at being more direct at where each piece is found! Most of what I wear is discovered at either Goodwill or Plato's Closet. If there is a boutique I find a clothing item at and do not advertise for them, it is not because I am withholding from you. I choose to be very careful who I advertise for on my website. I would hate for one of my readers to order from a boutique online and waste their money when I have not tested it out first. Whenever I advertise or post links, I want to encourage quality businesses/business owners only. So I tend to be pretty picky.

THE TULIP DRESS

These heels need to be appreciated because I ended up checking out and only paying 2 buckaroos for them. Way to go Goodwill for allowing us thrifters the opportunity to get your super cheap stuff for another 50% off. The dress was found at Plato's closet for $10 and the way it's cut at the bottom makes it so beyond worth it to buy. So basically I'm wearing $12 worth of merchandise and I'm pretty proud of my fashionable finds.



I love my major and all, Web Design rocks socks, but sometimes I think to myself "Would I have rather been working in the fashion industry?" But then I think about wanting a family soon and I know that if I ended up in fashion I would dwelve in and never come back out. I tend to be a little too passionate, especially when it's my job. But man oh man my mind has been drifting to that thought lately.

INTRODUCING JORD & MY RED HEELS

Polka dots and red heels have to be one of the "greats" when it comes to combining patterns and colors. Showing off this outfit makes for a great post, but I wanted to also introduce JORD watches. They sell hand-crafted wooden watches that are beyond beautiful for any obsessive watch person like me.




As much as I would love to take credit for putting this outfit together, I got most of my inspiration from the boutqiue Addition Elle. Subtle (not in your face) patterns are something I am fond of and when I saw THIS maxi dress I considered doing another post with patterns but adding a major pop of color with it! This plus-sized focused boutique is amazing to shop/gain inspiration from because of the great style they have.

THE REHEARSAL DINNER DRESS

For some reason, this beautiful dress was put on the clearance rack at a boutique nearby. I snatched it up before the wedding so that I could use it for the night of the rehearsal dinner. Bows on the back of dresses should be made more, I have decided. The neckline is fabulous because I feel modest/fashionable at the same time.



Loved the sunhat and I have been waiting to plop it on my head for a fashion post. Finally decided to pair it with this dress and bam all of a sudden it's summer and I feel like wearing this outfit everywhere.



White isn't the best color for a dress when going out on the town but hey it's classy and sassy and I love it. & sorry I left my ponytail holder on my wrist. Horrible habit.

POLKA-PLAID MIXED FASHION

Polka dots and plaid aren't usually a go-to for most girls in the morning when paired together, but experimenting is fun. Goodwill had this lovely J. Crew polka dot shirt on the rack for two bucks and it's been sitting in my closet since Freshman year of college. This vest is my favorite, ever. My roommate found it at some random thrift store in Kansas City so I'll be visiting her this summer and hitting up their thrift stores to find some other staple pieces for my closet.



Pretty sure I featured these heels in my recent Kimono post but I couldn't help wearing them again with this outfit. Love Plato's closet for gifting me with several pairs of heels, including these, for so cheap! They aren't the most comfortable to walk around in all day but way too cute to pass up.



Wedding planning has been kind of insane, guys. In less than two months my last name will be changed and I'll be Creed's WIFE. Crazy. This semester we have basically been in a long distance relationship even though our dorms are a thirty second drive away from each other. Sometimes we go days without even seeing each other because we are both so busy and our schedules clash. Tons of girl time is great for the soul, though.

I'm going to miss having late face steamer/spa nights with my roomie and late night pillow talks that last for hours upon hours about how silly boys are (and dumb). Rooming with a dude seems pretty cool since it's Creed buuuuut I will probably have Camille withdrawals for the first month or so. It's just so great having a roomie that is a direct copy of my personality/heart because she understands the way I think. Anyways, totally going to miss her but Creed is great so I will just end up making him have spa nights with me or something.

Polka-plaid should be a new fashion statement.

BEADED KAMINO | THRIFTING

Okay so I'm obsessed with this beaded kamino I found on clearance at a boutique. Why would anyone's eyes look over this beautiful thing to where it would end up on the clearance rack?! Ended up paying ten dollars for it so I consider that a steal. These heels from Plato's closet are to die for and were only a few bucks. I forked over a few dollar bills and now I get to call these beautiful pieces of artwork mine!

I'm such a shoe person. My roomie counted all of my shoes while I was gone with one of my girlfriends one day and ended up counting over 50 pairs, and those are only the shoes I brought to college. I have more back at the house! No judgment, please.



So now that I'm a freelance web designer while earning my bachelors degree (so close, I see the light) I have thought about making business cards! I was thinking about how I have made my hobbies of blogging, photography, and web design into my own little business to pay for groceries and gas through college. Since building all of these to the point of having steady clients, I decided business cards may be a must.

I found this awesome website called Moo and they are all about making custom business cards, which is perfect! I'm such a perfectionist with design but when I read "We move heaven and earth so that you will be happy with your order" I felt at peace, because the perfectionist side of me no longer needs to worry.

Spring break is officially over and the thought of this brings tears to my eyes. I have a wedding coming up in two months, 18 hours of school to complete, a couple of websites to finish for clients, catching up with the blogging world regularly, finding an internship within the next few weeks for this summer, moving the furniture into our new apartment, & trying to be the best fiancé I can be. Back to the real world. Pray for my sanity.

INSPIRED BY LEIGHTON MEESTER

If I could be Queen B, I would choose to be Queen B. Unfortunately Leighton Meester has this position taken care of so I just admire from a distance. I'm obsessed with Blaire Waldorf's style in Gossip Girl. Almost makes me wish to somehow manage to steal all of her clothes out of her closet and not get caught. If you haven't seen these six seasons of greatness then you need to get on Netflix ASAP. Look up Gossip Girl. Hit play. Then comment and we can be girls and talk about how we wish we were them ;).

 

This whole look is inspired by Blaire Waldorf and her amazing sense of style. This is my first post on trying to be a copy cat but hey, I kind of like it.

She always wears colored tights. Always. Never wears pants of any kind, with her dresses & skirts were the only type of "pants" allowed. That's kinda where I draw the line but I can pretend like I could dress like that every day of my life.

The floral pattern and top screamed Blaire, especially with the bright orange tights. I just threw this look together and had to post this on my blog.



If I actually participated in the whole #WCW thing, I would choose Leighton Meester and my mom every single week. I want my mom's character but Leighton's closet.

Okay I'm done being a major fan girl now.

BLAIRE WALDORF WANNA BE

Spontaneous started with a text from one of my friends and ended up with a photo shoot in the snow. Had to share this outfit with you guys because it is full of a bunch of great deals & color! Shout out to my future mom-n-law for getting me this headband for Christmas. It's absolutely perfect.



This whole outfit was thrifted. Goodness, fashion is so great. My "closet goals" always consist of recreating a name brand magazine outfit through thrift store shopping.

I have been dying to own a vest and finally found this one at Plato's Closet for $8! I was so excited.



I'm kinda obsessed with Gossip Girl to the point of wanting to buy every shirt that has Ed Westwick's face on it. Blaire and Chuck makes me swoon like every other girl that watches them slowly fall in love. My friend told me to act like I'm Blaire so this is me pretending I'm a snooty New York chick that is dating the hottest guy anyone has ever seen.

We froze our booties off but it was so worth every second.

All of you are lovely & I'm so glad I'm getting to catch up with a lot of you again! I missed all of my blogging buddies way too much.

cheerful designs make days better

My friend let me borrow her pants and so of course they ended up on my fashion blog. This design was just so fun and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to show them off! I'm not one for bright colors or loud designs but I would consider stepping out of my apartment wearing this.

Bee tee dubs, this semester is my first semester that keys to an apartment have been handed over to me! It's been such a blessing to have a kitchen and laundry room a few steps away from my bedroom door. Dorm life was great but not as great as this.



So it's the first week of school and I'm getting a little overwhelmed already. On the bright side, one of my assignments was creating a blog and posting a few times so you guys know I'm all over that one. I'm getting to create and design a lot this semester, I will definitely be doing a lot of growing as a future Web Designer.

Put Photoshop and InDesign in front of me, I know exactly what to do. Put a sketch pad and some artistic pencils in front of me and my brain goes dumb. As I'm typing this I have a sketch pad on my bed and I don't know what to do with it. Hopefully I don't fail so cross your fingers for me.
