rejection
This past weekend was the labor day retreat at the church camp I grew up at. I missed having quality time with my brothers and sisters in Christ that live so far away from me! I missed catching up with the teenage girls from my church and hearing about all their boy problems and insecurities. I missed being involved.
The theme was rejection. High schoolers can relate to that word on a deep level, unfortunately. Self esteem is such a battle when you are a teenager and I'm so thankful for all the talks I got to be a part of with so many different girls. That's why I love camp, especially as a counselor. I get to target those who aren't fitting in and get to know them on a deep, personal level. It was such a great weekend and I feel sorry for you guys because you didn't get to go.
Acceptance is what the church is about. I'm so glad my God is wise and set up the church like He did.
These are my "Liberty girls" & I am so glad I got to see their beautiful faces. Notice the sweater I am wearing. Can't get much cooler than a grandpa sweater from goodwill. The rocking chair was perfection.
