word for word wisdom

Cabin bible is one of those times where I connect with my girls on a spiritual level. It would be hard for my campers to recall a time when I wasn't goofing off, but whenever cabin bible started I made sure it was serious.

I talked about self worth. I shared some minor experiences in my life and how it changed me. I told them to never let a boy define them, because God should always be their number one man. I confessed how I used to let different boys put me down because I found my self worth in their attention. Every morning when we came around the Bible to connect these real life problems with God's word, there were tears. I loved each of the eyes that brimmed with salty tears because they looked at me with a thirst for more. They wanted me to teach them, they genuinely wanted to learn more about what God wanted for their lives.

"Miss Haley, those guys only saw your pretty face. But I think we see more of your heart. Because if they saw your heart they wouldn't be mean."

Word for word out of my campers mouth. I wrote it down immediately after she said it because I want to remember her unscripted phrase forever.
