missions | the banquet

These girls deserve a banquet, they deserve to be treated like they are special. I go down to Dermott for the sole purpose of showing these girls how truly deserving they are of pure love. My work here is focused on proving to them how worthy they really are. I can't imagine spending my life and growing up as they do, they are surrounded by constant negativity.

One of the girls brought me a flower before the banquet. Her mom died a few years ago and she has had such a rough life. The smile she keeps on her face is contagious, I love the radiant joy she possesses.

The majority of our group ready for the banquet. Each of them has such a special place in my heart! I can't get over how incredible Dermott is. I love being able to say that this is where I do my mission work and this is a place that the Light of God is being spread.

There was a candle lit dinner to make the girls feel special as well as a rose placed on each plate.

I got to hand them framed wisdom that night, such a cool experience. I read them a verse that had their name in it, a verse that showed God's love for each of them. We poured our hearts out to them through the way we treated them. Love for God and love for this town has summed up this past year and my passion for working here.

The banquet was phenomenal. I am counting the days until I can start planning another trip.
