cookie day

I love my family because our Christmas traditions include devoting a whole day to making cookies. For nineteen years I have stood at that counter and cut out shapes from the same dough recipe. & I know this post is so late but it's been sitting in my drafts and I forgot to post it forever ago. My bad.

Then we sit at the kids table and decorate our cookies together. Even when I am to the days of having a different last name I will still show up at my nanas to make these cookies. Traditions like these are just too special to give up because of age. There is no age limit on nana's Christmas cookies. Feel sorry for my husband because sometimes I doubt I will ever grow up.

I'm going to wrap this up with a horrible quality picture of me and my cousin. Sometimes I think about how crazy and obnoxious my family is and how well I fit in. Someone needs to start praying for whoever marries into this family of ours.

  1. Has anyone ever told you you look like Topanga from Boy Meets World? And once again those cookies look soo good. I wish I could start a tradition like this with my family.

    1. Haha I get that all the time actually!! I don't really see it but everyone else seems too. Definitely start this tradition! We have been doing it since I was in diapers.

  2. How cute! I made cut out cookies this year too. I am impressed with anyone who is patient enough to do this process on a regular basis.

    1. Yes it takes a whole day to get the cookie dough, cut them, and decorate. We do four batches of dough every year so it takes a lot of patience sometimes! :)

  3. yay for traditions...I'm excited to start some of these with my daughter...we baked this year but she was so into eating the chocolate (because she's only 2.5 years old) unfortunately I had to cut her off and send her in the other room with daddy so I could finish. lol. memories :)
