before & after

It just stared at me for the longest time and all I could think to do was walk away. There were a million eyes on a million things at a million different spots in my room. Where do I even start?

Organization is my thing. After devoting a couple of days to this mess I can say that I have a spot for almost everything I own. For some reason I have been having a lot of "miss mom" moments because I have been doing the majority of cooking, cleaning, and laundry. It's nice to come home and help out again especially since my poor mom was attacked by a disease last month and is still recovering. (love you mom)

The couch hasn't been completely cleaned off but I'm getting there. Progress, right?

+got the antique window at a local antique shop for $15. Score.
+empty root beer bottles with a colored ribbon, cheap decor.
+wicker baskets were $2 each. Never pass the clearance section without looking!
+black shelf was super cheap at Wal-Mart. (my roommate put it together with a butter knife and it has held up well)
+lighting made my room a million times better so go get lamps if you don't have them.
+to the left of my closet I put a mirrored window frame (thrifted for a few bucks) on a table stand (thrifted also).
+basically, hit up all your local thrift stores and buy everything that looks good.

Consider yourself introduced to my sanctuary.

  2. I love all your stuff! I'm currently trying to find the motivation to clean the rooms in my house. Mainly just the office/guest/craft room and a bedroom. Worked on downstairs all weekend (mostly sunday) and its looking a lot better.
