He offered her his hand as they made their way up to the top of the rock. They crossed their legs and positioned their bodies to the sun that was slowly sinking toward the roots of the trees. It was beautiful. A series of questions were asked and both of them took their time to answer with as much detail and thought. She admired his words and his love for God, she admired how slow he was taking everything. And then in the cutest way possible he told her he liked her. She didn't expect the words to come out of his mouth, but they did.
He closed the door for her and started the engine. The truck stayed in the parking lot for awhile longer even though they were on a time crunch. He looked at her until she smiled to prompt him to speak what was on his mind. He told her he meant what he said on the rock and that in the future, he wanted a relationship. She was silent because that word scared her more than anything.
Relationship. She automatically felt tied down and in chains. Her instincts told her to run but her heart and brain told her that he might actually be worth it. What's wrong with her?
He asked for her opinion, as he always did, and she emphasized the importance of taking their time. His response was the response every girl dreamed of getting from the man of their dreams. He told her to take all the time she needed, and if he had to wait for her, he would wait for as long as she needed. Whenever she decided to want him as much as he wanted her, he would be there ready. He promised her that a relationship with him would include honesty, God's love, open communication, and trust. Those qualities were so foreign to her but she was willing to become familiar with them.
He likes me and wants a godly relationship. I couldn't ask for a better guy to be around. It has only been a month of going out on frequent dates and everything is going so perfectly. This guy is different from every guy I have talked to because of his incredible love for God, it is inspiring.
I got to giggle with the hall of girls in my dorm that night as they all asked me questions about how it went. Stuff like this makes me wonder why I ever settled for less. And the picture has no relation to this post whatsoever.
AWH! I'm so happy for you. I'll be praying for you and him, that you both would have a beautiful relationship because of God's love shinning through you. :))
