my date

The kids I mentor painted my hand before I went on my date to remind me to smile at him. Cheers to trying to move on. Cheers to trying to date better guys. Cheers to making better decisions.

He was so genuine, so gentleman-like. I can honestly say I have never been treated that well when going out to dinner with someone. The car ride to Chili’s was full of mission trip talk and laughter. Our conversation flowed so well to the point of it being effortless.

I loved being able to step out of his truck and know that the guy I was with was there to spend time with me, because he actually saw something in me. He has interested me for the past couple of months but I have always distanced myself. The whole night I was caught up in how well he treated me. He never once said anything to put me down or disrespect me and I was not flooded with empty compliments that were intended to make me like him.

Out of all the dates I have been on and all the guys I have let pursue me, this is the first guy that believes the same way I do. It was crazy to see the difference in how I was treated before by other guys and how he treated me that night. It was nice.

A lot of my friends have met him and have fallen in love with his personality and who he is as a person. I think I might have too.

He dropped me off at my dorm so that he could finish his homework and I could meet up with someone for a friendship coffee date. An hour before curfew, he texted me and asked if I wanted to hang out again so he could show me something. I told him it was his decision, and I immediately got a text saying that he was waiting in the parking lot for me. What he had in mind didn’t work out but we had so much fun anyways. He promised me he would take me to B Rock one day, a place that involves a hiking trail and a beautiful cliff.

If a guy is interested in the fact that I blog, he is a keeper. This guy is definitely a keeper.

So the date went well and I like him. Good thing my car died two weeks ago, otherwise this never would have happened. And thanks for all the finger crossing that went on last week for this date because I am pretty sure it worked.

Gentleman are the best.
