monster

And then there's the days when she can't help but miss him. He broke her just like he broke all the promises he swore to keep. When everything got tough, he quit. When she wasn't enough, he went to another girl. She longed to be enough for him but as long as he put himself as number one, she could never be in his life the way she wanted to. All she knows is how he made her feel.

She tries so hard to be strong, she fails to realize that crying in front of someone isn't a sign of weakness. There is this monster hidden within her that screams insults as she steps closer to being the person she hopes to be. It feeds off of her insecurities and deep scars that she desperately hides from everyone. Over time, the monster has grown stronger to where life has become an unbearable disaster.

His eyes are the only eyes that appear in her dreams, but they are always looking at another girl. The thought of being without him made her slowly go insane because he was all she had. She sees innocence scattered on the floor and weeps for her loss. All of her dreams are sugar coated memories of the summer they spent together. She's not cut out for a series of temporary heartbreaks, she longs for an eternal love story.

The monster inside of her never hesitates to whisper lies of love, pushing her into harmful directions. She chases for the word she wants her world to spin around. She put up with being pushed against a car and yelled at for the word she believed would fix her life. He swore he loved her as he held anothers hand, laughing and carrying on with her as he did everyone else. She gave her life to a boy who never appreciated what she handed over. She gave up her last summer for him without any balance in her life. Her family no longer knew who she was and she lost all contact with her friends. Looking back, she gave up her life to fit in his, and that's really no life at all. She thought he was forever but she had no idea what forever meant.

What I would do to erase all the memories we had together.

  1. don't try to erase the memories, just use them as teachable moments. what was God trying to teach you, and what have you learned? there's no greater feeling than waking up and saying to yourself, "that was that, i'm over it, and this is why it made me a better person."

  2. hey, stay strong. its possible to get through this. if he isn't the one, then there is someone better for you out there. keep smiling, because things can only get easier from here.
