rub some mud on it

Barton Bible Camp Blog Series: day four. your face should be just as excited as mine is right now.

It’s Tuesday today, and that means that it’s the fourth day here at Barton Bible Camp. Woot woot.

When you add water to any sport that involves sand and a volleyball, you end up with a lot of muddy children. I had to take pictures so that you guys would understand how far these kids took it.

If there is ever any debate over what camp has the sweetest kids, our camp would win. It has taken me two days and I have every single child’s name memorized. I love them all with as much love as my heart can give out.

After breakfast when everyone’s tummies were nice and full with eggs and bacon, this sweet little girl came up to me and handed me a homemade craft. It was a cross with a bunch of glued on stickers and felt pieces, and on the back was the sweetest note that read “thank you for listening to me.” Always be a friend to that one person who sits by themselves, because those are the people that need your love the most. I guess that’s why when Jesus came to this Earth he chose the sinners to eat with instead of the priests and rich Pharisees.

I got asked to the bonfire by one of the boys here at camp. He’s such a sweet kid, I couldn’t refuse. I love my Parker and I’m glad he loves me.

Tonight was a night that everyone in the area comes down to Barton for a bunch of fellowship, food, and praising Jesus songs. The girls bathroom became a hairspray zone and in the middle of all the teasing, straightening, and curling was me and my Liberty girls. We had our mini makeover and in an hour I had three girls makeup and hair all fixed up. None of them have an older sister, so I decided I’d take that role this week while they were at camp. These girls don’t need makeup at all but boy oh boy did they look mighty fine. I'm devoting a whole post to this, because I already have enough pictures on this one as it is.

The lake is a wonderful place where glorious things happen such as baptisms and play time. A four wheeler saved us from walking down the steep hill and then back up. Hooray for less exercise!

Dear journal, God makes beautiful things. Especially the children covered in mud, God makes so many beautiful things.
