Life is this crazy and sometimes twisted adventure that has its moments of bliss.
Before I met this guy, my plan was to stay away from dating completely until after I graduated. I was quite content with the idea of receiving my degree as a single adult while spending my life serving a community who needed me. For a time my life was a bit chaotic and adding another person to the mess I was in would have been cruel. This chaos crawled behind the heels of my feet wherever I went, I swore to myself that I would keep guys that planned on pursuing me at a distance.
He was charming and handsome and I had heard multiple girls in the dorm giggle over his name before. I had met him once by this time, just a quick name exchange, but thought nothing of it. Some of my girlfriends invited me to make a road trip to Memphis after class one day, so of course as soon as my spontaneous butt was out of the class room I was in the car ready to go. This guy was invited to the same trip in a different car and our group ended up spending the whole night together watching high school football and walking beale street.
A few weeks later I was invited to go hiking at night time to watch the stars with him and a few of our friends. I remember sitting beside him, looking at the stars, and listening to him talk about how big our God is.
A month later, I went with a group of twenty people to go dance the night away (until 9:30 pm haha) with a bunch of eighty year olds. He asked me to dance and insisted that I take his hand so he could lead me to the dance floor. So there we were, his hands around my waist and our feet sliding around to the beat of old-fashioned country music. My heart had never beat so fast in my life.
It took me three months of warming up to the idea of this guy. . He took me on our first date and the thought of being single at the time of my graduation didn't sound as appealing anymore. He met all of my friends who gave him the stamp of approval. He met my crazy family and didn't run away. He was so persistent and so patient and all around swoon worthy. He asked me to be his girlfriend on December 8, 2013 and since that day we have grown so close to each other.

He keeps me on my toes and pulls constant jokes out of his sleeves frequently. He's pretty great.
