christmas missions

It's Christmas time and I had to throw a Christmas party for the girls. I went on a weekend mission trip to Dermott so that I could hand out presents and celebrate this time of the year with them! I am so glad Harding gave me a break from school and I was able to get off work for this.

This is Rosemary, one of the Godliest women I know. I work with Rose and Annalisa, her sister. They have both encouraged me to stay in contact with their community and help with their mission work in Dermott. Both of them have made a huge impact on my life and taught me so much about the heart of Christianity.

I love all of the wonderful girls that have welcomed me into their community so much. I worship an incredible God who is doing a lot of great things here. Some of these girls have softened their hearts toward the idea of church and loving others since last Spring. These gradual improvements encourage me to keep supporting the mission Annalisa and Rosemary have started.

This was such a special moment to me and I am so glad it got captured. All of these moments are stored in my heart so that on a rough day I can pull them out and remember I am wanted. My heart aches for the girls because they are growing up with horrible circumstances. Sometimes I want to steal them away with me so that I can love on them and teach them about the incredible God I worship. I wish there was a quicker way to have them understand how much Jesus wants them to be His. Until then, I will be Jesus to the girls and continue to love them as much as I can.

I am so sorry I have not been blogging these past few days. I have been loving on these wonderful ladies, stuffing my belly on deserts, and reviving all the Christmas traditions with my family even though I'm almost twenty.

I leave a little more of my heart in Dermott every time I come back.
