With all that was left of her, she found enough strength to move on. Her heart finally allowed itself to feed off of a different source other than pity and despair. Walking away from what had become her melancholic comfort proved to be the hardest steps she had ever taken.
She stepped forward one step too many as she kept her eyes on the kite above her. The root of a tree found itself in her way and a man's arm quickly reached out to break the fall. He slowly held her up and let go when she could stand on her own. There was a tip of his hat before he walked away. She bit her lip and smiled, this day would be remembered. As she lay in her bad at night she thought of how safe she felt wrapped in his arms. She found herself daydreaming about this mysterious man with the mysterious smile throughout the day, he never left her mind. If only there was a way to meet him again.
His face had clouded her thoughts but she didn't mind. Numerous strolls were being taken along the sidewalk in hopes of the man returning. Hope had started to fade. The more she searched, the farther away he felt. It was as if love had been playing a trick.
The morning routine had gone back to normal. Her local coffee shop provided the regular but before she could pull out her card, someone held out a card of their own. He grabbed the coffee along with her hand and pulled her to the booth nearby. Conversation was effortless with this mysterious man, she longed to know more about him. Time could not stop them and she was having the time of her life. He kept smiling and she kept melting. Before she knew it their conversation was over and with a tip of his hat he slid out of the booth.
It's crazy how you stumble into something so incredible when you least expect it.
