heart of the matter
Looking back doesn't always have to involve torture.
She found it healing to sit in the middle of her room sorting through past events and letting it all go, one by one. It was necessary for her to move negative thoughts and negative emotions from her mind so that she could become pure again.
What made its way through her ears and eyes were found buried in her heart, and coming out in not so good ways. Her desire was to live for her Father who longed to have her back in His kingdom. Hours were spent praying and crying as each painful experience leveled to the surface to be analyzed. Sometimes a girl needs to rip closing wounds open so that they will not heal the wrong way, and so she did. She brought each reason behind each tear to the foot of the cross and it changed her life. As much as she expected to feel a significant amount of nausea from thinking about everything, she couldn't help but discover peace. Jesus gave her so much peace as she sat in her room crying.
Her past became a clean slate and her heart was made whiter. The Lord whispered in her ears the plan he had for her, he was calling her to be a lily among the thorns of this world. From now on, she was going to give up every selfish desire and every obstacle to become closer to her Prince, her God.
All the black spots in my heart have become the heart of the matter, and it needed to be fixed. And I speak in third person so you don't think it's me. It works, right?
