Barton Bible Camp Blog Series: Wrapping everything up. Kinda like a taco.
Hallelujah. Praise the Lord! The week ended with 18 baptisms and a bonfire that lit the hearts of so many children. Even though I wasn't there to spend time with the kids or watch them devote their lives to Christ one by one I'm so glad I was able to hear about it.
Even this two month old baby wanted to be a super hero for Christ. What a cute outfit, eh?
No one wanted to take pictures with me. It's like after 1,000 pictures have been taken they get "tired of them" or something. But really, I found it kind of rude that they turned their backs to every flashing picture I tried to capture.
I love Barton Bible Camp. Next year, I will stay the whole week with all of these kids and it will be the best time of my life. I'm thankful for the opportunity I had and I'm glad my parents didn't let me back out just so I could manage the place I work for a few days. Working in the lives of children is so much more important than working at a gas station.
Barton has taught me that I'm capable of being an example. Not just an example at some camp that I stayed at for a few days, but even when I check people out at the gas station or when I am going on errand runs. I have this desire to help and encourage people now, a desire that has never been this strong until I realized my capability of how much I can impact people.
My mom and my second mom (who might as well be my blood mom, too. You can have two blood moms, right?) who were in the kitchen for camp. I'm blessed that I got some awesome women in my life.
Dear journal, I'm done with wrapping everything up. Sorry if you don't like tacos.
