For some odd reason, she finds the beating of her heart growing stronger and louder with time. As her emotions begin to stir she thinks of everything that could go wrong. Maybe time would give her the answers she can never seem to find. In front of her is the view of love displayed. She reaches out but only for air, because love runs away from her touch. Maybe that's why the girl silently longs for someone to care about her, someone who will hold her at night. The set of eyes seem to tear her walls down. Because that's what she needs. She needs someone to break down the barriers around her heart.
When the last Prince Charming was wearing a disguise, she was fooled. The same emotions sprang up, but in the end, he took off his mask. As soon as he knew he had her heart, he gave it back after ripping it to shreds. The pain of being unwanted made the girl feel unbearably alone. She let that moment of her past define her. Her self esteem feeds off of her insecurities. The broken heart thrives off of the rejection and pain, for that is all this heart knows.
The word "love" is not a word that will find it's way out of her mouth. She locks up love at all costs, to where feelings and emotion are no longer in control of her body. She protects herself. And at times, it gets to be too much to bear. This girl just has a hard time letting go of what happened to her, and as much as she wants something new in her life, the pain of what "was" will always haunt the present.
I see a lot of myself in this girl I just now told you about.
When I look in the mirror, it's as if she's standing right in front of me.
